Let us Pray for You
We would love to pray for you as you go through the ups and downs of life - through the good and the bad. If there is something we can pray for you about, please let us know. We will keep your request confidential and only share with our pastors. If you’d like to connect with a pastor for further conversation about your request, please include your name and email address and we’ll be in touch.
Prayer Resources
During his workshop on the Holy Spirit entitled, “The Holy Spirit You Never Knew,” Dr. Jack Levison shared several resources on incorporating daily prayer in your schedule. Whether you have 1 minute or 15 minutes we know these resources will help you gain a solid footing in developing a rich prayer life.
Morning Meditation (1 minute)
“Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, ever shall be, world without end. Amen!” or “The amazing grace…of the Master, Jesus Christ, the extravagant love of God, the intimate friendship of the Holy Spirit Be with all of you. Amen.” (2 Corinthians 13:14)
Daily Retreat (3 minutes)
3-Minute Retreats invite you to take a short prayer break right at your computer. Spend some quiet time reflecting on a Scripture passage. Knowing that not everyone prays at the same pace, you have control over the pace of the retreat. After each screen, a Continue button will appear. Click it when you are ready to move on. If you are new to online prayer, the basic timing of the screens will guide you through the experience. Start your retreat by clicking the link here: Daily Retreat
Book of Common Prayer (10 minutes)
The Episcopal Church has digitized their entire Book of Common Prayer and put it online. You can use this resource to find all sorts of prayers and litanies for all hours of the day and night and situations you may face. Book of Common Prayer
Lectio Divina (10 minutes)
Lectio Divina is a contemplative way of reading the Bible. It is a way of praying the scriptures that leads us deeper into God’s word. We slow down. We read a short passage more than once. We chew it over slowly and carefully. We savour it. Scripture begins to speak to us in a new way.
How do you practice Lectio Divina? You will choose a scripture passage and read it slowly, three times. The first time you read through, listen for a word that jumps out to you. Spend 1 minute meditating on that word. The second time you read through, listen to an emotion that grabs your attention. The third time you read the passage, listen for an invitation that may be offered to you.
Pray as You Go (12 minutes)
Pray As You Go is a daily prayer session, designed to go with you wherever you go, to help you pray whenever you find time, but particularly whilst travelling to and from work, study, etc. A new prayer session is produced every day of the working week and one session for the weekend. It is not a 'Thought for the Day', a sermon or a bible-study, but rather a framework for your own prayer. Lasting between ten and thirteen minutes, it combines music, scripture and some questions for reflection. Pray As You Go
Each Day With the Holy Spirit (15 minutes)
40 Days with the Holy Spirit is a devotional book written by Dr. Jack Levison. You can read one chapter every day for 40 days. Each reading gives a scripture passage, devotional, and prayer. You can find Jack’s book on Amazon, using the following link: 40 Days with the Holy Spirit
