The Endowment - Growing a Legacy of Faith

Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:6-8

What is an Endowment?
The Zionsville United Methodist Endowment was founded in 1999 and provides financial support to over twenty internal and external ministries which serve local and global agencies. Your continued stewardship and donor contributions allow the Endowment to plant the seeds of faith in achieving sustainable impacts for future generations by returning approximately 5% each year from the strategically invested funds to strengthen and grow these Endowment partners.

Why an Endowment?
Zionsville UMC has an endowment to:

  1. Provide sustained funding for important ministries.

  2. Support the financial future of ministries important to donors.

How are gifts invested?
Zionsville UMC’s Endowment Committee invests the donations with the Indiana United Methodist Church Foundation and uses the interest to fund designated ministries.

How do I participate?
Individuals or families can give cash, appreciated securities (stocks & bonds) or money from qualified funds (IRAs) to specific endowment ministries.

How does the Legacy Giving Ministry support the Zionsville UMC Endowment?
Legacy gifts are an investment in the future of ZUMC.  Each gift comes from God through the stewardship of any spirit-filled donor, offering the sacred privilege of ensuring long-term sustainability of ZUMC's mission & vision.  "Gifts of Income" e.g., cash, IRA assets, stocks & bonds, can be directed to existing endowment funds or used to establish a new fund (named with a minimum gift of $10,000). "Gifts of Passing" represent legacy giving through beneficiary designations e.g., bequest gift made in a will or trust, paid up life insurance policies.  All gifts, regardless of the amount, help to create an enduring legacy for ZUMC's ministries.
